Hey everyone! First time vending machine owner here! It’s a vendo v264m-148. I literally know nothing about vending machines and the lack of a manual makes it really tough to figure out.
Here are the problems I have with it:
1. Right now it is set to vend without adding any coins, but I want to change it back to requiring coins. The guy I bought it from gave me some sort of button cylinder with two wires coming off of it and said that it’s needed to make it charge again, but I have no idea what to do with it, and he said he wasn’t the one to remove the wires.
2. Even without charging, I can’t get it to vend anything. I have it loaded properly (to the best of my knowledge), but nothing comes out when a selection is made.
3. The display doesn’t light up at all, not sure what the deal is there.
I’d love to get this thing working soon, but I’m gonna definitely need some hand holding here. Any advice you guys can give would be much appreciated!

#3 Display light out Is fairly easy: It has to be 1 of these 3 things so start with cheapest - check wires, then the bulbs, then the ballast.
#1 are probably related but here is the problem, there are several different ways to "hack" an old single price machine to free vend. The manufacturer recommended way is detailed in our post here: https://www.vend-resource.com/forum-topic/how-do-i-set-soda-machine-free...
You can study that post and see if that was done and reverse it, but there are several other ways involving jumper wires and button switches to make it free vend (friends push secret button & get free soda). Reversing those would require a repair tech to study the jumper wires & reverse it. Without being there and looking at what was done it will be almost impossible to tell someone how to undo it.
