Lost key, how do I drill out vending machine lock?

I just bought this machine and I didn't change out the lock yet and now I lost the key that came with it. It is a medco lock and it is a being a real pain to drill out. After an HOUR of drilling my drill is dull and I am only maybe an 1/8th inch in! At this rate it is going cost a fortune in drill bits and take forever. I am already using a high quality drill bit. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
thanks,
RGump

RGump, medco locks are high

RGump, medco locks are high security and all high security locks are supposed to be a pain to drill out. But I have had the same problem before and was about to pull my hair out buying fancy 'high quality', 'high speed', etc. drills that all went dull after about 1/16" inch. Well, one day I was at one of my stops (an aerospace machining company) and the manager there gave me the best simple advice - he said "use a Carbide tip drill", I said "fine but where do I buy one?" He said "all hardware stores have them they are called Masonry drill bits." I thought he was crazy but I'll be d**m if it didn't work. The carbide tip on a masonry drill bit doesn't go dull and chews all the way through a lock. Some high security locks have hard pins cast into the lock that are designed to break the tip off a carbide tip drill when it hits one, BUT masonry drill bits are cheap. I use the 1/4" size and aim my drill right for that little toungue that sticks up in back of a barrel lock. Hope this helps.
