Help with machine

I am thinking its a DN-501 but wanted to make sure. Also I am going include some pictures of the inside coin/dollar mechanisms for any tips on setting price. Also, is there a way to set this machine up for free vend? I would also like to wire a switch to the light so that it does not have to run all the time. I am a first time owner of one of these and its going in my game room at home. I'm basically open to as much help as anyone will give. Thanks for any tips or help!

Sticky Post on how to identify your machine

Firetruckduck,
We have a post at the top of this forum that should help you: How to Identify What Make and Model of Vending Machine You Have.
If your machine doesn't have an Mfg. ID tag and that post doesn't help you, please upload better pics. Your pic's are to low resolution for me to tell much of anything. We allow up to 512KB size image files, yours were 7.5KB, so you can upload lots bigger pics. Don't be bashful. 1 big pic of the outside front door, 1 big pic of the inside of front door and measure how tall, deep and wide it is. We should be able to get real close to your Make/Model.

How to make my machine free

I just got a 1986 modle Dixie-Narco DNCB 276M 162-6 PE2369
Serial # 1226-2881 AK
I was wanting to make this machine free instead of .50. Any selfhelp videos would be great or any information at all would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Any way I can set this up so it is free all the time and no extra button to push, other than the selection?

There is a danger of overheating the credit relay

if you wire it permanently. That's why there is a momentary switch in the circuit. You can mount the switch in an inconspicuous location like in the side of the coin return hopper or some other ingenious place.

Slot # 3 will dispence every time I put a quarter in the machine

Any ideas on why this would be happening?

A column will vend automatically if you have a bad switch

on your motor or a gummed up brake on the motor. If tapping on the brass brake actuator that hugs the motor magnet doesn't give you the feeling that the bracket is almost too loose then it may be gummed up by syrup from broken cans. Spray a little glass cleaner onto the pivot points of the brake assembly and then tap the heck out of the brake actuator to work the glass cleaner into the joints. If that doesn't free it up then you need to replace the motor.

If the brake is plenty loose already then make sure there is a hook in the end of the white nylon brake pawl that catches the armature. If the hook is broken off the brake won't work.

If these things are okay then you probably have a bad motor cluster switch.
