Error jc#1 - jam can selection #1

perkyfiddler,
The computer diagnostics will say jc#1 (jam can selection #1) when the motor is not in home position (microswitch down in the notch on the cam) while this is usually caused by a jammed can it could be caused by a sticky brake over shooting the notch. To clean the brake:
SAFTEY FIRST! Unplug the machine before fixing the vend motors.
Then you need to clean it with some ammonia and water to get what is usually soda residue off of it, concentrate on the hinge where it is connected at. Work it up and down until it moves freely. Depending on how sloppy you were with the water you probably should let the machine sit and dry out first before plugging it back in.
In the pic below the brake is being pointed to by the red arrow.

Homing just means the computer is running the motor till it is in home position.
Try that, if that doesn't work get back to me,
daryl

No, if the motor is bad the

No, if the motor is bad the computer won't be able to move it either. You want check and make sure the wires are hooked up to the motor and micro-switches before running the test below.
You can test the vend motor with the 'motor test' function. How to do this is covered in the SIID Prog Manual on page 22. We have the manual here:
http://www.vend-resource.com/book/dixie-narco-siid-s2d-2-button-programm...
If it is (or ever was) a Coke branded machine then you need the 4 button version:
http://www.vend-resource.com/book/dixie-narco-siid-s2d-coke-cola-4-butto...
If it won't work with motor test, it is either a bad motor or a short in the wiring somewhere.
hope this helps,
daryl
