I have a Dixie Narco coke machine that I am fixing up for myself. I bought a new Cutler Hammer thermostat for the machine. It has a setting know and a cut-in and a cut-out adjustment. The compressor works fine and I can bypass the thermostat and get the box to 32 degrees no problem. I tried the control knob on the coldest setting but I could not get the box cold enough without the compressor kicking off . I do not know where to start on the cut-out , cut-in screws for adjustment. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Thats an overkill for a t-stat but it will work. Where do you have the probe mounted? If you put it in the stock position in the tube behind the evaporator then you need to set the cutout for about 26 and cutin at 34. If its mounted in front of the evaporator and not touching anything you need to set it at cutout at 35 and cutin at 42. Then check it out and adjust from there I don't know where your located higher altitudes will be 2 to 3 degrees difference. You just need to make sure the the differential (difference between cutin and cutout) is enough that the compressor doesn't short cycle.
