Coke vendo 264 money is bypassed

We bought a coke vendo 264 off craigslist for our youth room. He person we bought it from had it set so that you can press a button and it dispenses a soda without paying. It seems that the coinco s75-9800b is bypassed? There is and extra wire coming off the coinco that is not plugged into anything, we are not sure if it has anything to do with it, if it is somehow supposed to be plugged into the change acceptor or not. Maybe it is a setting on the inside we need to change? We are trying to figure out how to charge $.50 for a soda, thanks for all your input!

The harness you're holding

is for connection to a bill acceptor credit line. Since you don't have a bill acceptor in the machine it does not get connected anywhere. Your coin mech is not an S75 model but a Maka model, not that it matters. The free vend ability was created by some wiring being installed into your credit relay socket. You will need to remove the wiring (with the machine unplugged) from the socket and install a credit relay so that your machine will once again operate with the coin mech. I don't see the relay socket in any of your photos and can't remember where Cavalier put it. It may be below the coin mech in the bottom of the door, next to the lights or possibly inside the metal box that the coin mech is plugged into (doubtful). I operated 50 of these years ago but most Cavalier machines have thankfully been retired and junked so I haven't had to repair any of them for over 10 years.

It's possible that whoever converted it to free vend also left the credit relay laying in the machine somewhere to reinstall later. It might be in the bottom of the door, on the deliver port in the door or laying somewhere in the cabinet. It is plastic, 1 1/2" square and about 2" tall with several brass spade connectors sticking out one end. It may be clear plastic or black or white plastic.

If you need further help with this you can post close-up photos or even send me a message by clicking the Send Email button under my screen name.
