How do I remove (free) a jammed can from my soda machine?

Hi guys, today I noticed a selection 'sold out light' was on so I thought it was empty but the column was full! I noticed the cans were angled odd (not laying flat). So I took out the cans and down at the bottom a can is jammed (it's almost standing up) and the selection motor is buzzing/clicking. That can is in there real tight and I am afraid I will damage something by forcing it out. How do I remove it without breaking anything.
Thanks,
RGump

The first thing to remember

The first thing to remember when removing a jammed can is SAFETY.
It is IMPORTANT to unplug the vend selection motor (or the whole machine).
Push down on the metal brake that holds the motor gear in place. (See picture below, the red arrow is pointing at. The pressure of the jammed can should cause the motor to spin backwards, thus relieving pressure on the can and it should fall out or at least remove easily. Then plug back in motor and refill the column.
Hope this was helpful.
Daryl.
